March Prayer Letter
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you
rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am gentle and
humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is
easy to bear, and my burden is light" Mtt.11:28-30
Dear friends,
Serving Jesus among the poor and living in a community with them is wonderful, but at the same time it`s hard and painful because community is a place where life is given, but also a place of truth,of growth,of revelation of our pride and fears,a place of challenge and submission. Often I am tempted to idealize the poor, but i found out while getting to know them that that`s wrong. The poor are hurt people, people who have suffered losses, who have lots of anger and so many wounds. They are angry at life,at those around them, and even more at themselves. They struggle without any hope and you can obviously see tiredness on their faces, and hear a desperate call for acceptance, recognition, help, love and comunion.
Living in community with those who are rejected, seen as ugly and dirty, unuseful and with no value, pulls me into intimacy with God,where my eyes are being opened to see who He really is!
"The foundation of Christian concern for the hungry and oppressed is that God cares especially for them!"
He calls us to care for them,to give them our lives, our love.
As I kept on praying for vision in ministry among the poor I heard God calling me to love without any espectations, to be an example of a mother, humble and gentle, and to give my life to them,to let go of my pride and rights.
To see poverty is painful;to live in it is even worse and so i want to fight for those who`s cry reaches the ears of our Father.I want to bring them to where they belong.I want them to know who they really are - sons and daughters of the King.
O Lord, may the truth lighten the dark areas of this wounded world.May your love bring life and your sacrifice salvation.
I belive that God will bring freedom in the lives of the children.
I belive He is in control and that His hand can heal any wounded heart.I belive He will make justice for the poor!
"We are called to do,not extraordinary things, but very ordinary things, with an extraordinary love that flows from God`s heart."
Amen.
