WMF Romania serves Jesus among the most vulnerable: at-risk children, street youth, and poor families. Christians from Romania and from other nations come together from various local churches to seek the Kingdom of God in community. Through ministry on the streets, educational programs at a community center, and as family to the family-less, we strive for a transformed society in which the poor are redeemed and empowered.
Word Made Flesh Romania is called and committed to serve Jesus among the poorest of the poor. We desire to be present among the most vulnerable: street youth, children at-risk, and poor families.
WMF Romania serves Jesus among the poor in community. Christians from Romania and from other nations come together from various local churches to seek the Kingdom of God and to be guided by its values. We desire that the community empowers and enables each person to answer their specific call to serve Jesus, and that each person express their gifts for the edification of the community and the service of the poor. We recognize that our community is not only local but also global; through a shared spirituality and in prayer for one another, we minister to Jesus among the world 's poor with other Word Made Flesh communities.
We realize our ministry as agents of reconciliation. We implore the poor to be reconciled to God. We also implore the non-poor to be reconciled with the poor. We seek to serve as a voice for the voiceless through advocacy publications and mass-media. We desire that through relationships with local, national and international authorities, the voice of the poor is heard and listened to. We strive for a transformed society in which the poor are central, in which the poor are accepted by and integrated into the church, where the poor are empowered before the state institutions, and where the poor have access to participate in the marketplace. Therefore, we work to breakdown familial, educational, racial, religious and other social barriers that exclude the poor.
