1. Praise God for working in the life or several street boys from Micro 19 over the past year. We are blessed to see how God has freed them and given them a firm place to stand. Continue to pray for those who are still trapped in addiction. Pray for God to protect them this summer as those of us who regularly visit them will be away for most of the summer. Pray for God to work healing and freedom in their lives.
2. Starting in June and during the whole month of July, all of the North American staff will be away. Pray for the staff and children who will participate in the summer program at the Community Center. Pray for energy, creativity, love and patience for the Romanian staff who will be meeting with the children each day this summer.
3. Pray for the school children as they enter into summer vacation on June 15. With so much free time on their hands, many of them are tempted to beg. Pray that they will find good activities to occupy their free time.
4. Pray for God to provide for our financial needs. Last month we learned that the Romanian government changed the law on non-profit organizations getting tax deductions. We used to receive about 19% back on all our expenditures. Now we do not. So, we have a 19% size hole in our budget. Please pray for the government to change the law to favor non-profit organizations. And pray that our needs would be met.
5. In May we began meeting twice a week with a young woman who is soon to be a mother. We are praying that this will blossom into a young mothers' group where moms can find support and education for raising their babies. Please pray for this group as it begins. Also please pray for a young mother who lived on the street in Micro 19 until the birth of her son in May. She is now living in state run maternity center with her 1-month-old baby boy.
6. Pray for the staff who have final exams this month (Lau, Vali, Lenuta, Mihaela, Gabi and Nina). Also pray for Mihaela and Lenutsa this summer as they finish their senior thesis for graduation.
7. Pray for Fani as he spend several weeks in June-July working at a summer camp for youth in Bosnia. Pray for good teamwork among the staff from several nations, and for many Bosnian youth to come to know Christ as Savior.
8. Pray for Robin as she travels to Iowa to be with her family. Both of her grandmothers have cancer and are not expected to live much longer. Pray for God to comfort the Thada family during this difficult time.
