Gabriela "Gabi" was born in Galati, Romania, to a working-class family. She was her parents first child and following her were two more girls and a one boy. Now they are all married and her parents are retired.

Gabi studied food industries in high school and she worked in the office of a tin roofing factory. She married at age 21, and at 23 a wonderful son was born to her and her husband. She completed courses in Bucuresti to be an inspector for the health department. After this, she worked as an administrator for a company, and later, for an insurance company.

Gabi could not say exactly when she knew God because she felt that He accompanied her for her whole life. Her parents are Orthodox and from them she learned and saw many aspects of Christianity. Part of what she learned about theology and spirituality was also through practicing the disciplines of orthodoxy. At church she learned about WMF Romania (Cuvantul Intrupat) and after a time of volunteering, she chose to work with street boys and poor children. Gabi believes that she is part of a very beautiful work. She currently works as a social worker and studies sociology-psychology at the University of Galati. She doesn't know what the future holds, but she is happy that for now, she is with others walking on the path with the Light.
